When encountered, the two guards are blocking the path and must be spoken to. The Dragon Knight has two options: Tell them to stop the discussion, or to open space because the true champion wants to pass. If told to stop discussing, they'll cease and run away, rewarding 2500 exp. If told to open space, they'll become combative and must be killed, which results in 56 experience for each of them.
