Dragon Slayers are an elite military unit operating on Rivellon from roughly 1250 AD to 1300 AD.

Background[]

Training to become a Dragon Slayer starts at a very young age, presumably less than 10 years old, and not many make it to become a Slayer. Slayers are trained in all three classes of combat: Warrior, Hunter, and Mage. They are the only humans, not counting the human dragon knights, that have learned to read minds. Thanks to absorbing the memories of Dragons themselves, their eyes are colored silver and are capable of seeing the spirits of the long dead. [1] The Order is led by an elite group of Slayers known as the Blood Echelon. [2]

The Order of the Dragon Slayers was created by vengeful knights at the Rivertown cathedral that wanted justice for the death of the Divine at the hands of a dragon knight in the Great War between 1244 AD and 1250 AD. The dragon slayers quickly went from a small band of knights to a mighty army of elites. Though they have lost many soldiers the result is clear, the numbers of the Dragon Knights dwindled.

As of 1300 AD, only a single Dragon Knight from the era of the Great War remained. She was known as Talana and has left many mutilated Dragon Slayer corpses in her wake [3], before being mortally wounded by Commander Rhode and her fellow slayers, Marius, Gunther and Gene.

It is presumed the order was disbanded by Lucian after he was saved by the last Dragon Knight from his imprisonment in Plane of Hypnerotomachia in 1300 AD.
